All applicants to the B.S. Music Technology are required to submit both an essay and a portfolio to be reviewed by Music Technology faculty. Further information and submission of portfolio items will be available via your Admission Portal AFTER submission of this application and will be due no later than the document deadline for your application round. You will be asked to submit 2-4 samples of your work that are no longer than 3 minutes each by providing a URL where they can be reviewed by program faculty. Examples can include, but are not limited to:- Solo performance on your acoustic instrument, electronic instrument or voice- Recordings, scores or electronic realizations of musical compositions or arrangements- Recordings you have produced or engineered- Software of hardware you have designed or implemented- Reports or results from scientific experiments, particularly if related to music- In addition, you will be prompted to provide a written description of the samples you have uploaded that should not exceed 250 words. Your response to the following essay prompt should be no more than 500 words:- Please describe in detail your experience in music performance, composition, arranging, and/or theory. List primary instrument(s) or voice part and include any ensembles where you have had public performances. - Please describe in detail all your direct experiences in music technology.Details at https://music.gatech.edu/bsmt-portfolio-requirements
